Our 120th Anniversary

In 2016, Holy Rood Catholic Primary School celebrated its 120^th anniversary! Holy Rood is one of the oldest faith schools in Watford and during its life, has been home to two different site locations: on the ground of Holy Rood Church and where we are now.

This momentous occasion was commemorated with a special mass, celebrated by His Eminence Cardinal Vincent Nichols. All pupils from the school attended this mass as well as parents, careers, past staff, and special guests such as representative from charities we have worked with over our 120 years.

120th Celebrations

Further to this, we had our own 120^th birthday party for the school complete with cake and class parties. Children in the school created their own bunting with pictures on showing what Holy Rood Catholic Primary School means to them. The school, for the week of our 120^th anniversary, was decorated with this bunting both indoors and outdoors.
