IOW Day Three

We had more of sleep in today and woke about 7. Mr Wheatley had arrived the night before and greeted us with big smiles. The room inspections were even tougher but a massive improvement was seen. Far more quality bed making evident. One bedroom had 5 Adrian level beds made.

After another lovely cooked breakfast, we headed off on our big walk.  We had such great weather and the scenery was spectacular. On part of the walk they showed us where smugglers used to sneak through tunnels in the rocks.

Further along one of the hill gets really steep and the challenge was to see if you could RUN all the way to the top. In true HR style we had four children make it to the top without stopping....and the teachers were just grateful to make it to the top in one piece.

We walked all the way to the highest point of the Isle of Wight before heading down a bit for a picnic lunch in a field.

From there it was a short walk to Shanklin Beach where we all got an ice cream or a drink and went and dipped our toes in the water' s edge. It was cold but we were brave.

We walked back along the coast through lovely bush. It was lovely to see everybody able to have a chat and really getting to know each other.

We were back in time for a swim  and a bit of free time. After dinner (sausages or quiche) we had a campfire and learnt some funny chants and sang some songs.

Another lovely day of adventures....and ice cream
