COVID 19

Please be aware that due to the changing and evolving nature of the pandemic, information and guidance for schools is liable to change. Current directions for schools can be found on the website by clicking here.

The common Covid-19 symptoms are:

A high temperature

A new continuous or persistent cough

A loss of or change to the sense of smell and/or taste

If your child develops any of these symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) and tests negative on a lateral flow test, guidance states you need to seek a PCR test.

My child has tested positive on a lateral flow, what do I do?

At present anyone who tests positive on a lateral flow test (whether they have symptoms or not) must begin their isolation period straight away. They do not need to seek a PCR test.

The isolation period for those who are double vaccinated and those under the age of 18 has been reduced to 5 days, following two negative lateral flow tests on the morning of day 5 and the morning of day 6.

This means that a child can return to school on day 6 if they have had a negative lateral flow test on the morning of day 5 and then 24 hours later on the morning of day 6.

It is important that parents and carers inform the school office of any covid related absence from school so that we are able to monitor infection levels in school and make appropriate decisions in light of this.

What changes has the school made in light of Covid-19?

The school continues to plan for the safe and sustainable education of all pupils, during the pandemic, in line with guidance from the DfE, Hertfordshire County Council and Public Health Hertfordshire.
